Book Project

The Marion Chamber of Commerce continues their Book Project which is to give all Marion County 3rd grade students and Pee Dee Academy a copy of “Francis Marion and the Legend of the Swamp Fox” by Kate Salley Palmer for their personal library.  The Chamber is proud of this project to expand our student’s knowledge and the history of General Francis Marion.

Over the last six years we have placed over 3,000 books in the hands of every third grader in Marion County.   We estimate the number of third graders for this school year will be approximately the same.   A contribution of $100 will help us place 10 books or any amount you feel you could give.  The books will be delivered in March and we will present the books to the 3rd grade students in March.  A book plate inside each book will identify the sponsors of this project.  We hope that you will consider being a part of this program.  Your support and assistance will be appreciated.
